Hipposideros Halophyllus

Hipposideros Halophyllus bat is in the family Hipposideros. It is a small bat and weighs only 3-5 grams. The noseleaf has developed to provide a thick dish-like cover for the nostrils. The ears are large and round relative to the head. It has cream fur along the back which turns brown at the end of the spine, with paler underside. 

The Hipposideros Halophyllus bat is a big insectivorous bat who preys at sunset. Its flight is limited to a short period of time and in the areas near its cave. It has a wingspan of 60 cm. Head and body length is 15 cm. Forearm length is 9.5 cm. The 6-cm tailbone is located in the membrane between the hind legs. The canines are very long and sharp. 

The Hipposideros Halophyllus bats roost in small groups in dark caves and can be found in every region of Thailand.
