The Painted Bat or Kerivoula Picta is considered the most beautiful bat in Thailand and one of the most beautiful bats in the world thanks to its vivid colours. It is small in size. Its colours are bright orange or scarlet along the 3.6 cm. body length and orange along the forearms and fingers, with red tail and black wings.
The bats often roost in tree hollows and trunks and foliage, especially of banana and teak trees. They mate between May and August and November and December and give birth to 1-2 babies at a time. They live in form of a family comprising a mother bat, a father bat and the young. They forage twice or three times. Each flight takes around 1-2 hours.
The Painted bats are normally found in northeastern Thailand.
